About Me

My photo
A 10 year veteran of the US Army (and 10 to go until retirement!). Never deployed overseas, never saved a life. (Well, maybe once or twice.) Sergeant Moore is not a (war) hero.

Why I'm Not a Hero

Hero... What is a hero? By definition, a hero is "A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.". Synonymous with hero are words such as warrior, brave, champion... Am I any of these? Simply put, no. No, Sergeant Moore is not a hero.

There are many things that I am; I am a soldier, a father, husband, son, brother, student, thinker, medic, friend, dog/cat owner, beer lover, dabbler, tinker-er, meat eater, a man. There are innumerable things that should help mold a definition of what I am. But who am I? I am a dude (that's right, a dude), currently in my mid 20's. I have a beautiful wife, a 10 month old son, a baby on the way, and many other great things in my life that go along with the typical American dream. I'm just another Sergeant in the US Army. I blend in with easily 50% of the sergeants in the organization.

If you're here to read about a war hero, you're in the wrong place. If you want to read about what it's like to be in the Army garrison life, getting through the grind of military life, then you've come to the right place. Congratulations on finding this obscure part of the internet. Buckle up because this might not get any better.

V/R,

SGT Moore
